DeskMemo prioritizes your privacy. All your notes are stored in YOUR iCloud account.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Personal information beyond what's required for authentication
• Note content or data
• Usage tracking or analytics
• Cookies or tracking technologies
• Third-party data sharing

Information Stored in Your iCloud

The following data is stored exclusively in YOUR iCloud account and is controlled entirely by you:

Notes Data

• Note content (text, formatting, images, PDFs)
• Note organization (folders, pinned status)
• Note customization (colors, borders, transparency)
• Synced across your Mac devices via iCloud
• Never transmitted to our servers

User Preferences

• App settings and customizations
• Window positions and sizes
• Default note styles
• Stored locally on your device only

Subscription Status

• Trial period tracking
• Subscription state (active/inactive)
• Managed entirely by Apple's App Store
• We never see your payment information

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

DeskMemo integrates with Apple's services for core functionality:

iCloud Sync

• Notes are stored in YOUR iCloud Drive
• You control this data through your Apple ID settings
• Syncing uses Apple's secure infrastructure
• We do not have access to your iCloud data

Sign in with Apple

• Used for secure authentication
• We receive only a unique identifier from Apple
• Your email address may be hidden by Apple
• We do not store or process authentication data

App Store

• In-app purchases handled entirely by Apple
• Payment information processed by Apple
• We never see your payment details

Data Security

Your data security is built on multiple layers:

• iCloud encryption: All notes are encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
• Local storage: Protected by macOS security and your device password
• No third-party access: We never transmit your notes to our servers
• Sandboxed app: DeskMemo runs in Apple's security sandbox

Your Control Over Data

Access Your Data

All your notes are accessible at any time through:

• The DeskMemo app on any of your Macs
• iCloud Drive (in the DeskMemo folder)

Delete Your Data

You have complete control to delete your data:

• Individual notes: Delete within the app
• All notes: Delete the DeskMemo folder from iCloud Drive
• Local preferences: Uninstall the app
• Subscription: Cancel through App Store settings

Disable iCloud Sync

You can disable iCloud sync at any time:

• System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → DeskMemo (toggle off)
• Notes will then be stored locally only on that Mac

Data Retention

• Notes: Retained in your iCloud until you delete them
• Deleted notes: May be recoverable from iCloud for up to 30 days
• Local preferences: Deleted when you uninstall the app
• Subscription data: Managed by Apple according to their policies

Children's Privacy

DeskMemo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used DeskMemo, please contact us immediately.

International Users

DeskMemo uses iCloud, which stores data in Apple's data centers. The location of these data centers depends on your Apple ID country/region. Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for information about international data transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• For significant changes, displaying an in-app notification

Your continued use of DeskMemo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
